Permabond ET5429 Charcoal Thixotropic Structural Epoxy - 50ml + Nozzle

Part Number
E05429-10X50ML
Key Information
  • Permabond ET5429 is a thixotropic 2-part epoxy adhesive, great for bonding composite materials.
  • 2-part tube that includes 1 x 24 element square mixer (more available separately).
  • Key features: easy application, high shear and peel strength, high temp resistance.
  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning and roughening; for certain materials it is preferable to remove the oxide layer.
  • Application involves applying to one of the substrates and then simply bonding together until cured.
Additional Information

Permabond® ET5429 is a thixotropic two-part adhesive with excellent resistance to impact and vibration. The controlled flow properties as well as its ease of mixing and application, enables the adhesive to be used where gap filling or vertical application is required. Permabond® ET5429 has been found to provide exceptional performance even at elevated temperatures. It is ideal for use in construction of composite assemblies.

Surface Preparation Prior to Using Permabond ET5429

Surfaces should be clean, dry and grease-free before applying the adhesive. Use a suitable solvent (such as acetone or isopropanol) for the degreasing of surfaces. Some metals such as aluminium, copper and its alloys will benefit from light abrasion with emery cloth (or similar), to remove the oxide layer.

How To Use Permabond ET5429

1) Insert the cartridge into the application gun or cartridge plunger.
2) Remove cap and dispense mateial until both sides are flowing out.
3) Then attach the static mixer nozzle to the end of the cartridge and dispense out until adhesive is coming out of the nozzle.
4) Apply the adhesive material to one of the substrates.
5) Join the parts together. It's essential to join the parts within the usable pot life of mixing the two epoxy components.
6) Note that large quantities and/or higher temperatures can decrease the usable pot life.
7) Apply pressure to the assembly, typically by clamping, until handling strength is achieved.
8) Full curing of the adhesive will occur after 72 hours at 23°C (73°F). If needed, heat can be used to accelerate the curing process.
